Skid Row In Worldwide Search For New Lead Vocalist

Skid Row have teamed up with US music retail giant Sweetwater to launch a worldwide search for the band’s next lead vocalist and auditions are open now. The New Jersey band are inviting singers from anywhere on the planet to throw their hat in the ring for the chance to front one of Hard Rock’s most enduring names.

With 2026 marking Skid Row’s 40th anniversary, the band say the move signals the start of a new chapter, looking for someone who can respect the legacy while helping shape what’s next.

“This is not a contest or a gimmick. It’s a genuine search for the right voice, presence, and authenticity to carry Skid Row forward,” the band said in a statement.

Skid Row rose from the New Jersey scene to global success with their self-titled debut, then made history with Slave To The Grind, widely credited as the first Heavy Metal album to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. Across four decades, they have delivered era-defining anthems including 18 and Life, I Remember You, Monkey Business and Youth Gone Wild.

Sweetwater content creator Nick Bowcott added: “I first saw Skid Row play in New Jersey before they were signed, and they totally blew me away with the sheer quality of their songs, and the infectious high-energy of their performance. We at Sweetwater are excited to partner with the group to host this once in a lifetime opportunity.”

Recent shows featuring guest vocalists, including standout performances from Halestorm’s Lzzy Hale, have underlined how well the catalogue still lands today. There’s no submission deadline, and the band will keep reviewing auditions until they find the right singer.

Worldwide auditions are officially open, with no submission deadline. Skid Row will continue reviewing submissions until the right singer is found.
