Legendary Florida death metal veterans Deicide have officially recruited Jadran "Conan" Gonzalez (Exmortus) as their new guitarist, following the recent departure of long-time member Kevin Quirion. Conan will make his first live appearance with the band on their upcoming Latin American tour supporting Behemoth.
Conan expressed his excitement at joining the band, saying in a statement: "I'm thrilled and honored to jam amongst such legends as Glen and Steve and to hang with the rest of the team. I thank them for having me on board. I'm looking forward to unleashing hell in Latin America on this tour."
The lineup change comes shortly after Quirion confirmed his exit from Deicide in May, ending a 15-year tenure with the band. In a personal statement, Quirion cited family priorities and a desire to step away from touring as his reasons for leaving: "So after 15 years I decided to leave the band last month. Mainly I'm just done with touring and would like to spend the extra time with my family.
"I will still be writing songs and have already sent some to Derek Roddy and Sean Baxter to release under the Council Of The Fallen name. There will be no labels or shows, just putting out EPs whenever we feel like it. It was nice meeting a bunch of fans, bands, promoters etc and I wish everyone the best. Got to go now. Look for a job and Roblox with my son……"
Quirion joined Deicide in 2008 and contributed to three of the band's albums: In the Minds of Evil in 2013, Overtures of Blasphemy in 2018, and their most recent effort, Banished by Sin in 2024. Deicide's upcoming Latin American trek with Behemoth will serve as the band's first tour with the updated lineup, all of which you can find below.
