Spineshank are officially looking toward the future. In a new chat with Discoveringbands, drummer Tommy Decker confirmed that the reunited Los Angeles crew are actively working on new material — their first since 2012's Anger Denial Acceptance.
"There's some stuff [in the works]," Decker teased. "It might be a little while [before it's released]. We've got a few songs. We'll see what happens. [It will arrive] probably sometime next year."
The band's 2025 incarnation features core members Decker, frontman Jonny Santos, and bassist/vocalist Robert Garcia, alongside new recruits Jason Hager (ex-Chimaira) on guitar and Decker's son, Tommy Decker Jr., also stepping in on guitar.
As for the sound of the new material? Fans shouldn't expect Spineshank to reinvent the wheel. "It's more Spineshank," Decker explained. "We like to have the heaviness. We like to have the melody. Everyone wants the electronics. So it's just Spineshank 13 years later. It's always gonna be heavy. It's always gonna be a nice hook and there's always gonna be electronics. So it's who we are."
