Deftones' highly-anticipated tenth studio release, private music, officially has all 11 songs on Billboard's Top 20 Hot Hard Rock Songs chart and eight of these songs are in the Top 10 on the Hard Rock Songs chart. This comes after the band's album debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 on its first week of release, selling over 66,000 physical copies in its first week.

Deftones' "Infinite Source" is listed as the No. 1 track this week (7 September), with "My Mind Is A Mountain" at No. 2 and "Milk of the Madonna" at No. 3. Not only are eight of Deftones' songs in the top 10, but they actually rule the top six slots on the chart this week.

They wrap up the top six with "I Think About You All The Time" being listed at No. 4, "Ecdysis" at No. 5, and "Locked Club" at No. 6. Rounding out the top 10 for Deftones' songs is "Souvenir" at No. 8 and "Cut Hands" at No. 10.

Trailing just slightly behind the top 10 is "cXz" at No. 12, "Departing The Body" at No. 15, and "~metal Dream" at No. 16.

Deftones released private music on the 22nd of August, received a perfect score from Kerrang! and NME, with AllMusic, DIY, The Line Of Best Fit, and Metal Hammer rating it 4.5 stars out of 5. Produced by Nick Raskulinecz, who is also responsible for producing for the Foo Fighters, Coheed & Cambria, Alice In Chains, Evanescence, Korn, Mastodon, Halestorm, and many more, the 10-track LP plays with Deftones' signature grunge sound in a new, modern light.

The band are currently about halfway through with their North American tour, which wraps up with plenty of time to spare for the 2025 edition of Deftones' festival, Dia De Los Deftones, being held in San Diego, California on November 1st. Very much focused on both the future of music and its, playing on the festival lineup is 2Hollis, Clipse, Deafheaven, Ecca Vandal, Glare, Regulo Caro, Rico Nasty, and University.
