Spiritbox have officially achieved a major career milestone with their first Gold-status single in the United States.

The honor goes to their breakout hit "Circle With Me", which has now surpassed the 500,000-unit threshold required for certification. The song, released in April 2021 as the third single from the band's debut album Eternal Blue, quickly became a fan favorite and remains their biggest track to date.

Although the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) has yet to formally issue the certification, Spiritbox's label Pale Chord confirmed the achievement on August 18, sharing the backstory behind the single's release.

In a last-minute decision before filming, guitarist Mike Stringer pushed to pivot from "Hurt You" to "Circle With Me" as the lead single. That instinctive switch set the stage for what would become the band's most defining track, eventually earning them their first gold plaque.

"A fun story – 'Hurt You' was going to be the first single off Eternal Blue, we had a video set to go and the night before Mike called me and said 'I think we need to shift to 'Circle With Me'. I could not disagree, also a very good song," wrote the label. "So in 24 hours notice we shifted gears and the next day showed up and filmed 'Circle With Me' instead. We are awaiting the official RIAA certification but CWM is now a Gold single. Trust your gut!"

In the U.S., a gold certification represents 500,000 units, a total calculated from both physical and digital sales as well as streams. According to the RIAA's formula, 10 permanent track downloads equal one unit, while 150 streams from approved digital service providers count as one unit.

By crossing that mark, Spiritbox not only cement their status as one of the fastest-rising bands in heavy music but also highlight the impact Eternal Blue continues to have since its release.
