Japanese heavy music pioneers Babymetal have shattered barriers with their latest album, Metal Forth, which debuted at #9 on the Billboard 200. This marks not only the band's first-ever Top 10 appearance in the United States but also the first time in history that an all-Japanese fronted group has achieved such a feat.
In its first week, Metal Forth racked up more than 200 million global streams and sold 36,000 equivalent album units, underscoring Babymetal's rapidly expanding global influence. The band's reach extends far beyond the U.S. charts. Metal Forth made major waves internationally, including:
- 10 on Spotify's Top Albums Debut U.S. Chart
- 2 on the U.S. iTunes Download Album Chart
- 1 on Japan's Oricon Rock Chart
- 1 on Japan's Digital Albums Chart
- 3 on the overall Oricon Albums Chart
- Top 10 in Germany
Top 20 in the UK, with career-high entries in France and the Netherlands
Babymetal reflected on the milestone in a statement: "Thank you so much for your support on our new album Metal Forth around the world! We hope you enjoy it! Our music & career are evolving globally, and we are moving forward with 'Beyond HEAVY METAL.' Our journey continues, and we can't wait to see you at Babymetal shows in your city and your country."
The release of Metal Forth follows Babymetal's biggest North American tour to date, which saw the band electrify major cities including New York, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Toronto, and Chicago. On November 1, 2025, Babymetal will cap off this era with their largest U.S. headline arena show ever at the brand-new Intuit Dome in Los Angeles.
