On September 12, 2025 — exactly 50 years to the day after Pink Floyd first released their timeless masterpiece Wish You Were Here — UK-based indie label Pale Wizard Records will unveil a brand-new tribute album titled Wish You Were Here – 50 Years Later.

The record features a carefully curated roster of international rock bands reimagining the entirety of the 1975 Pink Floyd classic, as well as bonus tracks available on CD and digital editions. Among the contributors are Sergeant Thunderhoof, Hippie Death Cult, Mos Generator, and more.

For Pale Wizard Records founders Tim Hilleard and Dan Flitcroft, Wish You Were Here is a personal favorite. With Wish You Were Here – 50 Years Later, they've assembled a lineup of passionate rock bands to reinterpret the album while honoring its spirit. The tribute album runs as follows:

  1. "Shine on You Crazy Diamond (Parts I–V)" – Hippie Death Cult
  2. "Welcome to the Machine" – Mos Generator
  3. "Have a Cigar" – Duskwood
  4. "Wish You Were Here" – High Desert Queen
  5. "Shine on You Crazy Diamond (Parts VI–IX)" – Sergeant Thunderhoof
  6. "Fearless" – Urzah (CD/Digital Bonus)
  7. "Time" – Firegarden (CD/Digital Bonus)

Following the commercial and artistic triumph of The Dark Side of the Moon in 1973, Pink Floyd began recording its successor in January 1975. The result, Wish You Were Here, was released in September of that year and has since become a cornerstone of progressive and psychedelic rock.

Beloved for its expansive soundscapes and introspective lyricism, the album reflected the band's inner struggles — particularly their grief over the absence of founding member Syd Barrett, who had departed due to mental health issues. Through songs like "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" and the title track "Wish You Were Here", Pink Floyd crafted music that remains deeply resonant to this day.
