One of grindcore's most unlikely and inspiring figures, Grindmother, has announced two final live performances this December, marking the end of a remarkable journey that has redefined what's possible in extreme music. Now 77 and battling dementia, Grindmother will take the stage one last time as part of Cattle Decapitation's No Fear For Tomorrow Tour, with appearances set for December 5 at Club Soda in Montreal and December 6 at The Concert Hall in Toronto.

After a seven-year hiatus, these farewell sets will serve as a celebration of Grindmother's legacy — a tribute to a matriarch who exploded into the metal world at age 65, defied all expectations, and earned a global cult following with her ferocious vocals, defiant spirit, and uncompromising authenticity.

The upcoming performances will feature her son and longtime collaborator Rayny Forster (Moshpit Tragedy Records, Corrupt Leaders) on bass, joined by Topon Das and Mathieu "Vil" Vilandré of Fuck The Facts on guitar and drums. Sharing the stage will be a brutal lineup including Cattle Decapitation, Aborted, Frozen Soul, and Tribal Gaze.

"We wanted her to have a proper farewell for the fans she loves more than anything," said Forster. "We're beyond thankful to Travis Ryan and Cattle Decapitation for the opportunity to bring her in front of such a large audience. And of course, to our fellow Canadian grindcore family in Fuck The Facts who have graciously accepted the call. This will be a great celebration."

He added: "These will be her final live appearances, but it won't be the last you'll hear from us. We're working on new music, and there's a lot more to come."

Grindmother first turned heads in 2015 with viral rehearsal videos and the single "Any Cost," which eventually caught the attention of Ozzy Osbourne, who tweeted her performance to his millions of followers. In 2016, she released her debut album Age of Destruction and followed it with nearly 60 tour dates across 2017 and 2018. Her journey took her from YouTube to underground venues and festival stages, but it was her raw intensity, genuine message, and refusal to be a novelty that earned her real respect in the heavy music scene.

At the heart of Grindmother's success has always been Rayny Forster, her son and creative partner. A fixture in the underground scene, Forster founded Moshpit Tragedy, a pioneering digital label that worked with over 100 crust, grind, and hardcore bands. He also helped guide the vision and production of Grindmother's music, bringing underground ethics and experience to the project.

Grindmother's final performances will be short, powerful, and full of heart — a fitting goodbye for an artist who shattered stereotypes, broke boundaries, and proved that age and genre are no barriers to making a lasting impact. Don't miss this historic send-off from one of metal's most compelling and unconventional voices.
