Russian Circles is eagerly anticipating their next creative chapter, which is set to surface sometime in 2026. In a recent interview with New Noise Magazine, drummer Dave Turncrantz gave fans a glimpse into the band's creative state of mind: "It's about time that we — It's been, what, three years since the last record? And I think we're planning on trying to get something out by next year."
That last record, Gnosis, dropped in 2022 and was met with critical acclaim, praised for its raw power and nuanced compositions. Now, with the band three years removed from that release, anticipation for what comes next is steadily mounting.
Turncrantz went on to share that the band is approaching their new material with intention and patience, and without surprises: "There are ideas, little drips of song fragments and ideas, but I think we'll wait until the songs are fleshed out, where we know what actual instruments will be on them. But we're not looking to add keytar or anything," he joked.
Before heading back into the studio, Russian Circles will close the book on their Gnosis era with a final string of U.S. tour dates set for late 2025. These shows will mark the last time fans can experience the thunderous live energy of Gnosis before the band shifts its focus entirely to recording.
Joining Russian Circles on select dates are two standout acts that complement the band's dynamic range. Blackwater Holylight, known for their mesmerizing blend of doom and psych-rock textures, will bring an ethereal heaviness to the stage that's sure to resonate with longtime fans. Meanwhile, noise rock veterans Young Widows will lend their gritty edge to the tour's final shows in Nashville and Chicago, cities that have long been cornerstones of Russian Circles' touring legacy. "We will be playing the final Gnosis shows in the US before we begin our next album," said Russian Circles. "Delighted to have Blackwater Holylight joining us for the majority of the dates and our longtime tour mates Young Widows for the last two in Nashville and Chicago."
