No, BLACK SABBATH Didn't Snub OZZY OSBOURNE At The End Of Their Farewell Show

If you watched the livestream of Black Sabbath's farewell concert, Back To The Beginning, this past weekend, you might've been left puzzled by the abrupt and seemingly cold way the show ended. There were no emotional speeches, no heartfelt goodbyes — just Ozzy Osbourne left alone on stage, allegedly mouthing "stay on the fucking stage" before the broadcast cut out. But as it turns out, that's not how it really ended.

The confusion stems from what many fans are now calling a poorly edited livestream, which cut out the genuine closing moments of the show. As first pointed out by The Rock Experience with Mike Brunn on Facebook, fan-shot footage reveals what actually took place after the final note rang out: Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler returned to the stage, shook Ozzy's hand, and then walked off briefly — only for Geezer to come back with a cake for Ozzy, offering the Prince of Darkness a final moment to take in the crowd.

"For all the fans saying how 'cold' the end of the Black Sabbath show was with the band walking off stage and leaving Ozzy by himself. Note that you probably feel like that because of a really poor edit on the 'live'stream," wrote The Rock Experience with Mike Brunn.

"I saw a fan filmed clip that showed Tony and Geezer coming up to Ozzy at the end and shake his hand, they then walked off stage and Geezer returned with a cake for him. They were giving Ozzy that final moment to take in the crowd one last time. Such a shame that the 'live'stream butchered this, but that's how it really went down. You can see some of it in the video I've attached in the comments."

Loads of fans chimed in throughout the comments section, and even Black Sabbath bassist Geezer Butler posted a screenshot of the post saying: "I keep hearing that people watching the stream thought that our set ended abruptly…with us just walking off. Sorry if it seemed that way. I went off to get this cake for Ozzy. Cheers to the fan that captured the proper ending."

The real ending is of course now circulating online via fan-shot video and shows a heartfelt, celebratory moment that truly reflects the respect and camaraderie shared by the original Black Sabbath lineup. What viewers saw on the livestream, unfortunately, didn't do justice to the historic send-off Ozzy and the band rightfully received.

Speaking of Back To The Beginning, you can watch both Sabbath and Osbourne's final sets right here and all the bands covering Black Sabbath here.
