Foreigner Announces 4 Deluxe Reissue & Tour With Lou Gramm: A Monumental Celebration of Heavy Rock Legacy.

Legendary Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Famers Foreigner are celebrating the 50th anniversary of their trailblazing career in style by dropping a supercharged reissue of their iconic 1981 album 4.

The band are also launching a headline tour that promises to shake the rafters of venues across America. Set for release on September 12, Foreigner 4 Deluxe is a heavy-hitting archive of rock history that brings fans into the creative nucleus of one of the genre’s most enduring acts.

A Deluxe Package Worthy of Rock Royalty

The new Foreigner 4 Deluxe edition, released via Rhino, comes in multiple formats, including black vinyl, a five-disc CD/Blu-ray set, and digital packages.

The release includes a freshly remastered stereo mix, immersive Dolby Atmos audio, over 60 rare and never-before-seen photos, and a treasure trove of previously unreleased content: five songs, 14 alternate versions, 15 instrumental tracks, and 15 live performances from the band’s 1981–82 tour.

For rock historians and audiophiles alike, this is the definitive time capsule of Foreigner’s explosive rise in the heavy rock era.

The tracklist features classics like Juke Box Hero, Urgent, and Waiting For A Girl Like You, presented with both studio polish and raw live energy. The Blu-ray disc even offers a full Atmos experience for a truly immersive dive into the band’s sound, placing fans right in the eye of the rock ‘n’ roll storm.

Lou Gramm Returns for a Historic Tour

Perhaps the most exciting news for longtime fans is the return of original lead singer Lou Gramm, who will join the band for select performances on the Foreigner 4 Deluxe tour. Gramm—whose voice helped define not only the band’s biggest hits but an entire era of heavy rock—is reuniting with the band at a poignant milestone nearly 45 years after recording 4.

“Lou was an integral part of the writing and recording of 4, and his presence will add a historic dimension to our forthcoming tour,” said new frontman Luis Maldonado, who will step into lead vocal duties for the first time in the U.S. following Kelly Hansen’s farewell performance on The Voice season finale.

The tour kicks off December 3 at the Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, NY, and includes stops in Staten Island, Bethlehem, Wallingford, Montclair, and Williamsport, among others.

Foreigner – A Testament to Rock Endurance

Originally released in July 1981, 4 remains one of Foreigner’s most commercially and critically successful works, spending more weeks at #1 on the Billboard charts than any album in Atlantic Records history—including giants like Led Zeppelin and AC/DC.

With over 10 million copies sold worldwide, the album is 6x Platinum in the U.S. alone.

This reissue marks not only a tribute to that legacy but a reinvigoration of Foreigner’s place in today’s heavy rock landscape.
