Deftones is fueling speculation of a new album or single with a recent mysterious teaser for something called "Private Music," expected to drop on July 10. While the band has yet to confirm the nature of the release, excitement is building — especially following comments from Everlast of House of Pain during a recent appearance on B-Real's The Dr. Greenthumb Show with Deftones guitarist Stephen Carpenter.

"Since we're going to be on this kind of, you know, throwing flowers around attitude, this man [points to Carpenter] has a record coming out much sooner, in August, that I just heard a few songs from," said Everlast as transcribed by The PRP. "[It] sounds like Deftones all got in time machines and got back out and hit the studio last week and are feeling young and beautiful.

That record is amazing, man, all three [songs] that I heard… It's gonna be a good musical summer for people who like what we do. Or summer for them; for you and me, probably end of the year."

While Deftones has not officially confirmed the August release date, Carpenter did speak about upcoming plans for the band, noting that he'll be back on the road with them soon: "We're actually going back out — well, they're out right now in Europe —I join back up with the band in August, and were doing Canada/U.S. mix."

Son Doobie of Funkdoobiest – also included in the interview – later chimed in, saying: "The music you played Steph, Strong One [one of Carpenter's nicknames] is always treating us to what he's got going. And, man, those songs are amazing.

"And, like I said, man, Chino sounds amazing… Just on it man, and sharp man. And yeah, man, your guys show is ridiculous, bro. It's sickening… And then just to say again, you know, man, it's just I can't wait for you guys hear it, it's so dope."

Deftones has announced the extension of their 2025 North American Tour with a second leg featuring Idles, Phantogram, and The Barbarians Of California (depending on which dates you attend).

This leg of the tour kicks off on August 22 at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, BC and continues in arenas across Canada and the United States, including Rocket Arena in Cleveland, OH on September 10 and Ball Arena in Denver, CO on September 15. Tickets are available here.
