When the new hit MetalTalk Towers that Inglorious were back from their 2022 hiatus and will release their new album V on 6 June 2025, there was a rush to listen to the second single, Devil Inside. Just over three minutes later, the calm waters of the office were parted, with Liz Medhurst exclaiming, “It’s bloody marvellous. A real development of the Inglorious sound.”
V marks the return to the Inglorious fold of bassist Colin Parkinson. “In the summer of 2023, I sent a message to Colin and asked him if he wanted to come for a pint,” frontman Nathan James told us. “A few meetings and writing sessions later, we had more than an album’s worth of great material, and I can honestly say I’ve enjoyed every second of creating this album with him and the new lineup.
“Colin has always been a great songwriter, and over the years, we’ve both matured as artists, writers, performers and people. This is going to be a great year for Inglorious, and I’m excited to welcome Colin back and to share this new music with everyone.”
Colin says the new song Devil Inside came about via experimentation with lower tunings. “I had the riff for a while,” colin says, “but couldn’t really find anything to go with it. That was until I watched a Metallica documentary and approached it again.
“Nathan came up with the verse pretty much straight away and we tried a few chorus ideas before settling on a more melodic approach. I love the song. It’s an impactful, weighty tune that’s also direct and very catchy.”
James and Parkinson, who co-wrote the band’s first three albums, Inglorious, II and Ride To Nowhere, are joined by guitarist Richard Shaw, best known for his work with English Extreme Metal band Cradle Of Filth and longtime friend of Nathan, drummer Henry Rogers.

Devil Inside follows the earlier single Testify. “Testify is one of those songs that, when Colin played me his original demo, I started humming a chorus straight away,” Nathan said. “It starts with Colin’s awesome bass sound that the fans will notice from the early Inglorious albums. It was a lot of fun to record and is a great introduction to the talents of Richard Shaw and Henry Rogers.”
V is released on 6 June 2025 via Frontiers Music S.r.l and is available to pre-order from here.
