black sabbath

Black Sabbath came to an end in 1999, and then again in 2017, and then again this year as part of Ozzy Osbourne's final farewell show. Though if it's up to Sharon Osbourne, there will be a Black Sabbath avatar show in a post-Black Sabbath world (for a third time).
According to Osbourne in an interview with Metal Hammer by way of Blabbermouth: "Sure I would [have a Black Sabbath avatar show], yeah. Technology keeps moving on and on. You can do incredible things now, so what you could do in five years will be even better." She added: "You never know what the opportunities are."
On one hand, I personally think the avatar shows are just awful cash grabs. On the other band, the ABBA Voyage avatar show generated over $150 million in sales between May 2022 and September 2023 – so people clearly do enjoy seeing these shows. Though the Dio one didn't do so hot, so maybe metal fans aren't into it?
Black Sabbath's original lineup – Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward – will play their final show on July 5 at Villa Park in Birmingham, England and the lineup is insane. They've got everyone from Slayer, Pantera, and Metallica playing to individual musicians like Papa V Perpetua (Ghost), Fred Durst (Limp Bizkit), David Draiman (Disturbed) and a whole slew more joining in. I'd say get your tickets here, but they've long been sold out. So uh… just look at the website and think about what could be.
