New Bernie Marsden EP & Album ICONS Announced – Hear His Stunning Take On Purple Haze

Fran Marsden, the widow of Bernie Marsden, has approved the release of the fourth album of studio recordings in the Inspirations Series, Icons, which will be released on 9 May 2025. Ahead of this, a digital EP is out now featuring a remarkable Bernie Marsden interpretation of Purple Haze.

The five-track EP continues Bernie’s legacy by honouring the music that inspired his iconic guitar style. The EP also features On The Road Again, Sitting On Top Of The World, Joe’s Place and Pick It Up. The EP is available from slinky.to/PurpleHazeEP.

The Icons album can be pre-ordered from the special Bernie Marsden shop. Each order will also include an exclusive free Collectors’ Card. 

Since Bernie Marsden’s passing in 2023 at the age of 72, tributes have poured in, reflecting on his vast influence on rock and blues. Best known as a founding member of Whitesnake, Marsden was more than a guitarist—he was a passionate student of music history.

His Inspirations Series, which began with Kings (2021) and continued with Chess (2022) and Trios (2023), paid homage to the greats who shaped his sound. Icons now carries that tradition forward, featuring Marsden’s takes on classic songs.
