Decapitated's 2002 album Nihility featured one of the band's biggest songs, "Spheres Of Madness". It's Decapitated's most played song live, it's got a music video, and it was inspired by such death metal legends as Dutch band Gorefest and… uh, Limp Bizkit?

According to Decapitated guitarist Wacław "Vogg" Kiełtyka in an interview with The Garza Podcast, the divebomb riff in "Spheres Of Madness" was actually influenced by Limp Bizkit guitarist Wes Borland. Which is wild as hell.

"You will never guess from where I was inspired by that," said Vogg. "I shouldn't say probably, but fuck it. "So it was… I had a friend who listened to Limp Bizkit. Just the whammy bar [divebomb in the riff]. I'm not inspired by Limp Bizkit, but he uses the whammy bar in some of the songs and it sounds like, so powerful, you know? It's a cool trick. It's a simple thing."

Vogg also spoke a little about the music video for "Spheres Of Madness" and how big a deal it was for the band back in Poland.

"I remember we sent the record to the label so they could listen, the first answer was 'oh this song, 'Spheres Of Madness'. We are going to promote that.' We made a video for [the song] in the United States States during our first US tour in 2002. We filmed it in some studio in California and they put it on MTV. So I remember like some of the Polish newspapers like 'our boys are on MTV.' There was like, an article about it. It was something. Back in the days when MTV was still playing music videos."
