Sumerian Records has just announced that Bad Omens and Corey Taylor are to feature on the brand new Queen of The Ring soundtrack. Covering the track "Dust In The Wind," originally by Kansas, the new cover was teased alongside the announcement of the song on Sumerian's Instagram.
The caption does say, however, "the first soundtrack song drops" this Wednesday. However, the inclusion of the word "first" in that sentiment lends to the idea that there may be more than just one cover by both Bad Omens and Corey Taylor on the upcoming movie soundtrack.
Bad Omens rose to critical acclaim in 2022 for their record, The Death of Peace of Mind and its innovation within the nu-metal genre. In 2023, they toured extensively alongside the likes of Underoath, A Day To Remember, The Ghost Inside, and Beartooth. And they also supported Bring Me The Horizon and released a single with Poppy last year.
Corey Taylor has had an extensive solo career outside of his career as frontman of Slipknot, having released a solo record in 2020 and signing a new record deal in 2023, he's released an additional two follow-up records. He also remained active in his original group up, Stone Sour, up until 2020. Slipknot's last record was released in 2022.
