Gibson Garage London

London’s premier destination for guitar enthusiasts, Gibson Garage London, will mark their first anniversary in style with a week-long celebration packed with exclusive events, live performances, and a tribute to one of rock’s most iconic bassists.

From 18 to 24 February, the Gibson Garage London will host the Gibson Garage Fest Week, bringing together music fans, artists, and collectors for an unforgettable experience. The festivities will feature a rare public display of Cream bassist Jack Bruce’s legendary EB-1 Violin Bass, an all-day acoustic festival, and a star-studded charity concert benefiting the Jack Bruce Foundation.

Cesar Gueikian, President and CEO of Gibson, reflected on the milestone: “The Gibson Garage London was designed to be a hub for the local music community. Over the past year, it has become a global destination for guitar enthusiasts. We’re thrilled to celebrate this anniversary with a week of incredible events for all music fans.”

Still to be announced is a partnership with a world-renowned musician, songwriter and guitarist for a special run of signed guitars in support of Teenage Cancer Trust.

The grand opening of Gibson Garage London, the first flagship store outside the U.S.
The grand opening of a new Gibson Garage flagship store in London is set for Saturday, February 24, 2024. This is the first Gibson flagship store outside of the U.S.

Opened in early 2024, Gibson Garage London quickly established itself as a must-visit music hub, giving fans access to some of the finest guitars ever crafted. More than just a store, the Garage offers an immersive experience where musicians can explore Gibson’s rich history, test out instruments, and even design their own custom guitars.

All-Day Acoustic Festival – 22 February

Gibson Garage Fest Week will offer a mix of special in-store events, product launches, and exclusive merchandise that is available only at the London location. To date, we’ve seen acoustic sets by The Almighty and Ricky Warwick on the basement stage, and on 22 February, there will be sets by another seven performers.

Running from 12:00 to 6:30 PM, this day-long event promises a showcase of rising stars and established acts, all under one roof. The lineup includes a stellar mix of talent, such as Campbell King, Jasper Hodges, Rachel Croft, The Wild Things, Seb Lowe, Lloren, and Ben Ellis.

Jack Bruce’s EB-1 Violin Bass on Display

One of the festival’s most exciting highlights is the four-week public display of Jack Bruce’s EB-1 Violin Bass, starting on 20 February. Bruce used this bass throughout his career—including during Cream’s legendary 2005 reunion—and it is a significant piece of Heavy Metal and rock history. The exhibition is set to raise awareness for the soon-to-be-established Jack Bruce Foundation, which aims to support young musicians facing barriers to music education.

On the evening of 20 February, the Garage will host a special benefit concert, Jam for Jack, featuring performances from Mark King, Phil Manzanera, Gary Husband, Jack Bruce’s Big Blues Band, Art Themen, Liam Bailey, Aruba Red, Kyla Simone Bruce, Marlee King, and Nandi. All proceeds from ticket sales will go towards the foundation, and a one-of-a-kind bass guitar will be auctioned in support of the cause.

Gibson Garage – More Than Just a Store

Located just off Oxford Street, the Gibson Garage London has become a vital part of the city’s music scene. With over 4,000 square feet of space, it houses more than 300 guitars, an exclusive acoustic room, and the largest UK collection of Gibson, Epiphone, and Kramer instruments.

Visitors can plug in, play, and explore Gibson’s world-class craftsmanship while also discovering MESA/Boogie amplifiers, Maestro pedals, and Gibson apparel.

As Gibson Garage Fest Week approaches, more details and surprise announcements are expected. For music lovers, guitarists, and fans of Heavy Metal history, this is a week not to be missed.
