Antisaint get off to a flying start in 2025 dropping their latest single, a brilliant Cover of Depeche Mode, Never Let Me Down Again, a song that saw a huge resurgence in popularity after being featured on the 2023 TV series The Last Of Us.
There is little surprise that such a modern and progressive band like Antisaint would look at a tune like this and give it a whirl some 37 years after the original. What they deliver, though, is far more impressive.
From Cheyenne, Wyoming, Antisaint have given a modern take on an old classic. Though a heavier version, it is still filled with the welcoming sounds of ’80s synth. Matt Whiteman pulls off the emotive and haunting vocals which provide a perfect juxtaposition to the pent-up rage of Antisaint’s previous hit, SNAFU.
Having played the song live several times, they have now recorded it, which is great to hear. Known for their energetic performances, the band have captured their energy perfectly on this track. As a modern Metal band with a mix of tender and aggressive vocals and instruments, this makes them especially well suited to Never Let Me Down Again, and this version perfectly captures the pulsating bass, driving drums and atmosphere of the original.
2025 is looking set to be a big year for Antisaint, and we can’t wait to see what’s next for them.
