A follower recently asked Sammy Hagar on Instagram about the status of his Sammy’s Island project after seeing a video of the Best of All Worlds crew heading to Scottsdale, Arizona.

Hagar confirmed that the project had been canceled due to profitability issues. He responded, “It’s true that organization didn’t get it. They don’t understand redheads hanging around having a good time and not spending enough time at the tables, gambling and losing their money. Sorry to say it, but that’s part of it.”

The Sammy’s Island project was first announced in early 2024 as a tropical-themed destination at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas. It was scheduled to open on May 17, 2024.

At the time of the announcement, Hagar expressed his excitement, stating, “I gotta pinch myself! I’ve been dreaming about this island concept for many years now, wrote a song about it over a decade ago, and to see it coming together in of all places, the fabulous Palms Resort and Casino in Las Vegas the perfect fit for this little oasis. We’ve got big fun coming up this summer folks. Let the party begin.”

Sammy’s Island featured a poolside restaurant, live music events, and DJ sets, combining food, drinks, and entertainment inspired by Hagar’s music and lifestyle. The singer himself gave occasional shows at the resort from time to time. He last performed at the Palms in October, where he celebrated his birthday with a live show alongside Rick Springfield.
