Gene Simmons expressed his approval of Jimmy Fallon and Hannah Waddingham’s KISS cover.
The KISS bassist shared the cover on his X post, writing, “HANNA WADDINGHAM & JIMMY FALLON Duet!!…”
Waddingham, who appeared on Fallon’s show to discuss her role in ‘The Fall Guy,’ was part of a segment where the movie’s soundtrack, which features ’80s rock songs, included a cover of KISS’s ‘I Was Made For Lovin’ You’ by Yungblud.
After talking about her filming experience in Australia, Fallon suggested Waddingham sing live for the audience. Initially, she declined due to other plans, but Fallon encouraged her, and eventually, Waddingham grabbed the mic. She performed the KISS hit with Fallon joining her in a duet.
Yungblud released his version of the song in April of last year as part of ‘The Fall Guy’ soundtrack. KISS’s Paul Stanley praised the cover on X, saying, “A REALLY terrific new version and take on our classic. Yungblud NAILS it!!”
In June, YouTuber Denis Pauna uploaded a video titled ‘If Metallica Wrote ‘I Was Made For Lovin’ You.” Stanley also shared his thoughts on it, writing, “GREAT song is ALWAYS a great song!”
Despite KISS retiring, Simmons is still touring with his solo band. He had initially planned a brief U.S. tour for Spring 2025, set for late April and May. The tour later included additional dates in San Antonio, Texas, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, and Rohnert Park, California.
The Gene Simmons Band features guitarists Brent Woods and Zach Throne, along with drummer Brian Tichy.
