Sammy Hagar believes Mike Anthony performs one particular song better than David Lee Roth.

Hagar took to Instagram to share the setlist for his upcoming January 17 show at Barrett-Jackson, writing in the caption, “Set list for Scottsdale show Barrett-Jackson Friday, January 17. Anybody got a problem with this set list?””

The Red Rocker later commented under his post, admitting he was overwhelmed by the responses and revealing the first song of the list. “You guys are wearing me out. I can’t answer all these. But it’s going to be a fun show. Loose like a cabo birthday bash show. The first song is ‘Bad Motor Scooter.’ Some people said they couldn’t read the first song. Montrose in the house.”

When another user shared their surprise over a particular song, “Love ‘Rock Candy.’ Surprised to see ‘Ain’t Talkin’ Bout’ Dave. I mean, *Love*,” Hagar responded by saying Mike Anthony sings it better. “Mikey sings that one better than Dave.”

According to the setlist, the band will perform songs like ‘Finish What Ya Started,’ ‘Pound Cake,’ ‘Best Of Both Worlds,’ Why Can’t This Be Love?,’ and ‘Right Now.’

As the shows progress, Anthony has some exciting news — Chickenfoot, his band with Hagar, might be releasing new music soon. “I hope everyone’s having a great holiday season,” the bassist said in a video message on Instagram. “Merry Christmas, Happy Chanukah—however you celebrate. And I just want to take this minute here to thank everybody for all the love and support this past year. Everything from the Mad Anthony Café [merch store] to coming out and seeing The Best of All Worlds Tour this year.”

“I have nothing that I wrote out, nothing planned. This is all just coming straight from the heart… But anyway, I want to wish everybody Happy Holidays, Happy New Year. Here’s to 2025, and let’s make it a… great year.” He then hinted, “We’ve got a lot of great stuff planned. Maybe some new Chickenfoot music.”

Chickenfoot consists of Hagar, Anthony, Joe Satriani, and Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith. The band released two studio albums in 2009 and 2011. During their 2011 and 2012 tours, session drummer Kenny Aronoff replaced Smith.

Meanwhile, the lineup for Hagar’s The Best of All Worlds tour also includes Anthony, Satriani, and Aronoff. Hagar has also revealed that this group has been recording new music, including a song dedicated to Eddie Van Halen. Hagar says will be released in early 2025.
