Jaime Bennington, Chester Bennington’s son, shared new details about a stalker who claimed to be possessed by Chester and made threats against his family. In a 45-minute Instagram video, Jaime said, “So, today, the situation with Quantum Lyricist escalated.” He found out that the stalker had been making videos about him.
Jaime said he reported and blocked the stalker, but he also contacted the police for his safety. “I reported her and I blocked her. I should not have any more problems with this person, but just for my own safety, I did report this to the police. I am currently, and will be submitting evidence of the death threat and the threatening behaviour that has been carried out not just to me but apparently the others because that energy that I was receiving was present through all of the media that I looked through.”
Jaime stressed that he didn’t want anyone to harm the stalker. “I don’t want anybody attacking this person, I don’t want anybody doing anything necessary. We don’t promote hate, even if what she said was violent, even if what she said was gross, even if what happened was inappropriate or unacceptable. It’s important to remember that everyone’s having a hard time right now.”
Jaime clarified that although he didn’t agree with the stalker’s actions, he believed the person was struggling. “I’m not condoning what she did but I will say this after going through the media present on her page, I see somebody who is challenged. I see somebody who may or may not be a victim of a number of things, someone who very clearly did want me to interact with them in a certain way— probably would have been nice for them— and I wasn’t able to.”
“What happened is not okay, that’s why I reported to the police, that’s why I’m going through the process of getting a protection order,” he continued.
Jaime also mentioned the stalker’s recent post saying they were in the hospital. “According to their most recent story post 6 hours ago, she’s in the hospital, she’s being hospitalized for something. It seems as though she may have had a psychotic episode or been in a psychotic episode. I don’t mean that in a judgemental way. […] It does seem serious to them, it does seem like they are really going through something. As far as I could see, they believe that they have been poisoned by lithium, they are being attacked by the government. all things that are real things. I’m not saying that lithium poisoning is necessarily real, but we know that the government does some shady stuff.”
Finally, Jaime said that some of the things the stalker talked about on social media might be real experiences. “Some of the things they are talking about on social media are real. I am not going to tell you that what they may have gone through isn’t real.”
Earlier, Jaime had said the stalker reached out claiming to be possessed by Chester. The stalker also made strange accusations, saying Chester was proud of domestic violence and was transphobic. They threatened Jaime with death and insulted his wife, all because Jaime didn’t listen to their Soundcloud music. Jaime made it clear that he doesn’t accept violent behavior.
