In a recent interview with Michael Franzese, KISS’ Gene Simmons confirmed that he met Diddy and was asked about his thoughts on the ongoing situation involving the rapper.
“We met. He was cordial and so was I, but who knows what goes on behind closed doors?,” Simmons said. “I don’t think it’s fair to comment if you weren’t there or know anything good. I mean there’s such a thing as presumption of innocent and more than that, I don’t know.”
Simmons also discussed his perspective on controversial topics related to relationships and age boundaries. “I have no idea. By the way, I have different points of views about not talking about Diddy, about consenting adults of a certain age, that’s one thing. But if you’re talking about underage that’s a different thing. But even today it’s a very strange thing.”
“There are certain states where, I’m not saying this is right, I’m just telling you the way it is, Jerry Lee Lewis married his cousin. She was 13. I think in Alabama. Then he went off on tour, took her with and when they crossed the state, he was uh arrested, interstate, whatever. So there are States’ rights and there’s federal, but morally for me if you’re underage I think that crosses the line,” he added.
Over time, other rockstars have shared their opinions on Diddy and reflected on their encounters with him. Sharon Osbourne was among those people. “[I’ve] worked with him for many, many years, and, obviously, I would not know what goes on in his bedroom; neither do I want to. But as far as people who’ve been going on all my socials, calling me names and things and putting up pictures of Marilyn and I, you know, there’s something called a working relationship, and that’s what I’ve had with Marilyn for many years. I know nothing about his sexual preferences or the way he treats women. I know how he treats an older woman, which is me, and he’s always been respectful.”
Mötley Crüe’s Tommy Lee also made a post but later deleted it, claiming he was hacked. “Y’all seen the news? They denied his 3rd attempt at bailing out. This is unacceptable, so we’re fighting back at the system. $FREEDIDDY on Solana is the first step towards raising the much needed awareness on the truth,” he had written.
In October, five new civil lawsuits were filed against Diddy in the Southern District of New York. The lawsuits accuse him of sexual assault or rape in separate incidents between 2000 and 2022. Among the plaintiffs, two are men and three are women. Over 120 individuals have now accused Diddy of sexual crimes. He has denied all allegations and is awaiting trial, scheduled for May 5 at a federal detention center in Brooklyn.
