Jaime, the son of Chester Bennington, revealed on his Instagram stories that his father’s widow, Talinda, had filed for a restraining order against him.
“On 11.23.23, I was served with a Domestic Violence Restraining order request by my father’s widow,” Jaime shared. “Someone I had called a mother since 2004. The order was entirely rooted in falsehoods, and served only to prevent me from telling my truth.”
He continued in another story, “Talinda’s restraining order request asked that: 1). Jaime be banned from the state of California. 2). That the DV order include 4 additional protected people: my siblings Tyler, Lilly, Lila, and her roommate’s (Amanda Van Roberts) daughter Aiyanna. 3). That the DV order be made permanent for 3-5 years.”
“The court hearing which would determine the legitimacy of Talinda Bennington’s claims against me was scheduled for 12.12.23 (a New Moon). After careful deliberation, I decided that I would be representing myself in the case against Talinda Bennington,” Jaime stated.
In a separate story, he added, “When it was time, I represented myself. The court did not allow me to submit ANY EVIDENCE in support of my position. And by the end of the hearing, despite the fact that I wasn’t permitted to share my evidence, the court somehow determined that by technicality MY TESTIMONY FULFILLED Talinda’s own BURDEN OF PROOF.”
“The Domestic Violence Restraining Order was granted, albeit with modifications. The court decided: 1). To impose a stay-away order of 100 yards, 2). To remove my siblings and Amanda’s daughter from the protected peoples category. 3). To impose the order for 1-year only. Talinda Bennington had gotten away with lying under oath,” Jaime noted.
Linkin Park’s new singer, Emily Armstrong, faced backlash for supporting Danny Masterson. Talinda Bennington showed her support for Armstrong by commenting with fire emojis on Armstrong’s Instagram post.
“I’m so beyond excited for this next chapter!! The love and support does not go unnoticed. See you all soon,” Armstrong wrote in the caption. Talinda responded with fire emojis.
Jaime criticized Linkin Park for choosing Emily as their new singer, accusing the band of erasing his father’s legacy. He also raised concerns about Armstrong’s ties to Scientology and Danny Masterson. In response, Jaime received death threats from fans. Linkin Park defended their choice, with Mike Shinoda stating that the new lineup was about moving forward, not erasing the past.
