Rising Swedish melodic death metal stars, The Halo Effect, recently dropped the official music video for their new single, "March Of The Unheard", the title track from their sophomore album, set to be released on January 10, 2025.
The visually stunning video, which can be seen below, matches the intensity of the song, blending dark, atmospheric imagery with explosive performance shots, delivering a cinematic experience that complements the band’s signature sound.
The Halo Effect bassist Peter Iwers has conducted an interview with Flavia Andrade of Chaoszine. Duing their chat, which can be viewed below, Iwers mentions that "March Of The Unheard is a voice for the voiceless. I think a lot of people can assosciate to the feeling of not being heard; of being seen, not being listened to, whether you're heard or not."
Drummer Daniel Svensson is a man of much fewer words:
Fans have been eagerly awaiting new material from The Halo Effect. The upcoming album March Of The Unheard promises to showcase the band's evolving artistry while staying true to the melodic death metal roots that their fans have come to love.
Guitarist Niclas Engelin comments on the song: "This song is based around the melody theme for the intro on all our 96 shows. I just got the idea of starting the whole album with this theme and building a full song around it. Mikael took the whole song to another level with his lyrics, which enlighten the need for our society to hear the voices of the unheard - the powerless."
He continues: "We are all suckers for melancholic melodies in an up tempo beat, and add some harmonies to that, and we get a beautiful Halo song. Working with the mighty Gothenburg Marching band Göta Lejon just blew our minds both in the studio and live.. damn they are powerfull!"
