Has Foo Fighters cancelled their 2025 touring plans? According to Hellfest founder Ben Barbaud in an interview with Le Parisien, they sure did. Barbaud revealed the potential cancellation after talking about why Muse is one of the four headliners at Hellfest. Barbaud said Muse replaced Foo Fighters now that "Foo Fighters cancelled their summer tour."

"They were offered to me on a platter," said Barbaud. "A month ago, I was offered to program them with a handful of other European festivals.

"Foo Fighters having cancelled their summer tour, Muse was called in as reinforcements. I accepted because I was missing a headliner on Friday and because the Hellfest audience is more and more open. With age, I too have matured, I am less sectarian."

He continued: "I created this festival for the love of punk, hardcore and at the beginning for the purists. But today, I prefer to shock them than to always do the same artists."

It's worth noting that Foo Fighters' website does not list any tour dates at this time. The reportedly cancelled 2025 tour was never announced either, so I suppose no love lost as nobody had any plans to see Foo Fighters. We'll update this story as more information becomes available.

And if you're wondering why Foo Fighters appears to be hibernating, it's likely due to band mastermind Dave Grohl having fathered a child outside his marriage and the subsequent blowback.

In a statement issued this September, Grohl said: "I've recently become the father of a new baby daughter, born outside of my marriage. I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her. I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness. We're grateful for your consideration toward all the children involved, as we move forward together."
