Joe Bonamassa took to X to share a live performance of Pink Floyd’s David Gilmour. Bonamassa reposted a ten-minute video filmed by a fan. The video, shared by a rock music page, was captioned, “I will be forever grateful to the person who uploaded this incredible live video. The guy you’re watching is 78 but he proves that age is just a number. The legendary vocalist and guitar player David Gilmour performing an epic song, Comfortably Numb, live at his 3rd night at Madison Square Garden on November the 6th, 2024. The angle, the quality, the atmosphere, and David… There’s no words I can describe this live performance.”
“To be able to play and sing this good at any age is nothing short of astounding,” Bonamassa shared it again with the caption.
One user responded to Bonamassa’s post, saying, “I wondered ‘how could he sell the most iconic strat of all time?’ Now I realize. He’s gonna just ‘make’ another one.”
Bonamassa replied, “It doesn’t matter. David can play anything. Notice though, He didn’t sell the rig.”
Though retirement often comes with old age, Gilmour released new music earlier this year. His album, ‘Luck and Strange,’ is his first in nine years. Though it has been released just recently, Gilmour shared he already has a ‘trove of stuff’ for future projects. “There’s a consistency to what we’ve just done with this album now. We’ve taken things further. I’ve got a trove of stuff already,” he said. “Bits and pieces of songs, some of which I rather like.”
The rocker recently wrapped up the New York leg of his ‘Luck and Strange Tour.’
