In a recent tweet on his official X account, Nikki Sixx shared a sad update regarding Mötley Crüe’s upcoming tour schedule.
“How are you doing?” a fan asked during a Q&A session. Sixx responded, “Thank you for asking. Me and Courtney [Sixx] are really busy between all our business’s and our daughter. Nice to be off the road til next year.”
Back in September, Mötley Crüe had announced plans to perform at The Roxy, Troubadour, and Whisky A Go Go in Los Angeles. These three intimate club shows took place on October 7, October 9, and October 11, on Hollywood’s Sunset Strip.
These events followed the release of Mötley Crüe’s ‘Cancelled’ EP on October 4. The EP, their first release with Big Machine, features three new songs: ‘Dogs Of War,’ ‘Fight For Your Right’ (a cover of the Beastie Boys’ song), and the title track ‘Cancelled.’
The band also made a surprise appearance at the Troubadour on October 8 as part of their Hollywood Takeover. They posted a video on social media showing a trash truck pulling up to the venue and unloading trash, only for the band members to emerge from it.
The band captioned the video, “Mötley Crüe gets dumped back out in a trash truck on the Sunset Strip in Hollywood for night 1 of the HÖLLYWOOD TAKEÖVER!”
Mötley Crüe also reminded their fans about a charity auction featuring instruments used on stage, each signed by the band. Proceeds from the auction were donated to Covenant House International.
Despite the Hollywood Takeover’s emphasis on returning to their roots, Mötley Crüe still performed their classic hits at the Troubadour. Their 16-song set included fan favorites like ‘Primal Scream,’ ‘Shout at the Devil,’ and ‘Kickstart My Heart,’ as well as newer tracks like ‘Dogs of War’ and their cover of ‘Fight For Your Right.’
Mötley Crüe’s collaboration with Big Machine reunites them after their work on the 2014 album ‘Nashville Outlaws: A Tribute To Mötley Crüe.’ Big Machine also worked with the band’s new guitarist John 5 on his 2021 album ‘Sinner.’ The band’s last studio album was ‘Saints Of Los Angeles’ in 2008.
