Richie Sambora recently discussed why he hasn’t released a new solo album since 2012’s ‘Aftermath of the Lowdown’ during an appearance on ‘Howie Mandel Does Stuff.’

“I also think, and I think that this is really true, people don’t have the time for the album experience anymore. You know what I mean?” the guitarist explained. “It’s sad that they don’t.”

He elaborated, saying, “So, I just started going like this, ‘Okay. I’m just gonna release one song at a clip and see how it’s going.’ So, I think in the month of July, I released four songs. Then, about three weeks ago, I just released a song called, ‘We’ll Get By,’ which I think is very, very timely for what’s going on now. I’m lucky because I got like two albums on ice kinda thing, sitting on the can.”

This year, Sambora released his first new music since leaving Bon Jovi in 2013, with singles ‘I Pray,’ ‘Livin’ Alone,’ ‘Songs That Wrote My Life,’ ‘Believe (In Miracles),’ and ‘We’ll Get By.’

Following ‘I Pray’s arrival in April, Sambora shared in a statement, “I’m at that point in my life where I am truly happy and a big part of that joy comes from writing songs and making music. There’s a tremendous freedom with these songs because I don’t have to think about charting No. 1 or what’s happening on the radio but I still put the same craftsmanship, care and love into it as I did with ‘Slippery When Wet’ or ‘New Jersey’ and I hope they bring a similar happiness to those that choose to listen and push play on streaming services.”

The release of new material followed Sambora’s sale of his entire music catalog to Hipgnosis four years ago. This included his 3 solo albums and the 12 studio albums he recorded with Bon Jovi.
