MEGADETH, MACHINE HEAD, DREAM THEATER, DIMMU BORGIR, CANDLEMASS, EMPEROR, AVENGED SEVENFOLD And Others Confirmed For 2025 Edition Of Norway's Tons Of Rock Festival

Tons of Rock is Norway’s largest festival located in the city center of Norway’s capitol Oslo. In 2024 the sold-out festival had over 150,000 visitors from 80 countries. Now the festival revealed most of the artists for 2025 and tickets are on sale here.

Like a battle jacket covered in patches from the audience’s dreamland, Tons of Rock in Oslo, Norway announces a sensationally large lineup drop with a whopping 22 top-tier bands and artists made up of legends, icons, and heroes. This year’s lineup is topped by four headliners who have never played at the festival.

The British legends Muse, known for their grandiose live performances and with massive demand from fans worldwide, are set to deliver one of their select festival appearances in 2025.

One of the audience's most requested bands is the American heavy metal band Avenged Sevenfold. With hundreds of millions of streams and over 10 million albums sold, they will close Tons of Rock as the headliner on Saturday, June 28.

Never before has the festival dropped so many big names in a single day. Metal legend Dave Mustaine will take a short break from the studio to perform an exclusive summer concert with Megadeth at Tons of Rock. Machine Head, headlining the world’s biggest metal festivals like Hellfest and Wacken, will make their debut at Tons of Rock. Dream Theater, who recently sold out Oslo Spektrum, is confirmed, as is Weezer, a band we know will excite many. Norway’s ultimate punk rock band Turbonegro is finally back. This will be their only concert in Norway, and Turbujugend from around the world will gather for Turbonegro’s homecoming in Oslo. As if that weren’t enough, the Sex Pistols will deliver a set of their biggest punk hits, fronted by the wildman Frank Carter, making it guaranteed to be one for the history books.

“We are extremely proud to present the legendary Muse at Tons of Rock 2025. It’s a dream band for us and an exclusive booking we know will bring joy to many. I saw them in Mexico last year and was blown away by the energy and show they delivered. We’ve been trying to get Avenged Sevenfold for many years, and it’s incredible they’re finally coming to us. To be able to announce 20 other huge bands at the same time, including the likes of Megadeth and Machine Head, makes this a historically strong lineup,” says a proud  CEO Jarle Kvåle.
