After Paul Stanley shared his thoughts on the elections and the decisions Americans face, Alex Skolnick added his own perspective.
The Testament guitarist took to X to respond to Stanley’s message. “I agree with this in principle but also feel a—hole behavior shouldn’t be tolerated. Those who post ‘Cry more, Libtard!’ name call, insult etc don’t deserve a bridge. Don’t get me wrong: Respectful disagreement is good, as some have shown. The others? Only if & when they grow up,” he wrote.
Stanley, who has been open about his political views, has had no problem sharing his thoughts publicly. Skolnick’s comments came as a reaction to the KISS rocker’s earlier statement. “IT’S OVER. If your candidate lost, it’s time to learn from it, accept it and try to understand why,” he wrote earlier. “There will be no building bridges to those you don’t agree with by being condescending, insulting, talking AT them or removing yourself. If your candidate won it’s time to understand that those who don’t share your views also believe they are right and love this country as much as you do. The enemy is not our fellow Americans. It is anyone and everyone who seeks to divide us.”
Like Stanley, Skolnick has been vocal about his political views over the years. The guitarist even released a rap song criticizing Donald Trump.
Two months ago, Skolnick addressed whether his political stance would affect the band. This came after some backlash regarding his song about Trump.
“For every ‘I HATE YOUR POLITICS AND AM DONE WITH YOU & YOUR MUSIC!!’ there are many more like this. THANK YOU,” Skolnick responded.
When a user commented about checking his album sales, Skolnick replied, “Album no longer count. Ticket sales do. And they’re better than ever,” followed by a winking face emoji.
The guitarist also made it clear that he would never pretend to support right-wing politics just to avoid losing fans.
