Download Festival 2025 has finally released its blistering heat of anticipation, with the initial heavy music lineup being announced last night at the launch party. The Metal-dominated capital raged into the night as headliners Green Day, Sleep Token and Korn’s names were blasted across One Marylebone’s dramatically decored walls after a two-minute video of hype was played.
The festival promises its usual magnificently manic mayhem, with a jam-packed weekend set to be yet again more immense than ever. Each year, Donington Park plays host to the UK’s biggest assemblage of leather-wrapped rock and Metal addicts. Come sun, rain or – very unlikely – snow, punters are nothing but all in on the highlight of the festival year.
Green Day will make their first-ever Download appearance in the festival’s thirty-five-year run. With many headline acts frequently returning to the Apex main stage over the years, this will undoubtedly be a massive feat for the event.
Joining the triple-threat headline spectacle will be Weezer, Bullet For My Valentine, Spiritbox, Sex Pistols, The Darkness, Steel Panther, Don Bronco, Cradle Of Filth, Jimmy Eat World, McFly, Airbourne, Sikth, Jinjer, Within Temptation, Boston Manor, Sophie Lloyd, Karen Dio, Graphic Nature and many, many more.
Over ninety colossal bands have been announced for DLXXII, and this is only the start of this gloriously horns-to-the-sky lineup. The billing poster can be seen below, with presale tickets available now and the general on-sale to be released this Thursday, 14th November, at 9 am.
Keep a Metal eye peeled for more updates and indulgent additions to the festival as we count down the days to the weekend, where music rules and unrestrained madness ensues.
