Evanescence drummer Will Hunt appeared in a recent video of Drumeo and shared his thoughts on Josh Freese’s drumming on the band’s hit song, ‘Bring Me To Life.’
“This song is a really big song for Evanescence,” Hunt said. “[They] just celebrated the 20th anniversary of ‘Fallen,’ which was the record that it was on. This is the song that basically started it all. Josh Freese actually played drums on that record. It was a little bit before I was in the band. He played exactly right for what the song was and obviously, 18 billion streams later, it’s proof that he did play it right.”
Before Hunt joined the band, Freese played all the drums on the ‘Fallen’ album. The band even included footage of Freese tracking some of his parts for the title track on their 2004 making-of-DVD.
Last year, ‘Fallen’ celebrated its 20th anniversary. In an interview with 89 FM A Rádio Rock, Amy Lee shared that the band is now working on new music. “We’re in the creative process right now, but we’re not deep in the throes of it yet,” she said in September. “We’ve been doing a lot of creating, and we just have, like, tons of ideas. So we’re gonna get serious and get in the studio in November for the first round. Round one.”
The band also finished their first tour across Canada in 15 years last fall. The tour kicked off on October 15 in Vancouver, British Columbia, and made stops in cities across the country before concluding on October 29 in London, Ontario.
