Comeback Kid, one of the most influential bands of the hardcore punk rock scene, is gearing up to celebrate two major milestones in 2025: the 20th anniversary celebration of their groundbreaking album Wake The Dead, and a remarkable 25 years together as a band.
In honour of these achievements, Comeback Kid is excited to announce a special anniversary show in their founding hometown of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Set to take place at the legendary Burton Cummings Theatre on February 22, 2025, the hardcore punk icons will perform their career-defining record Wake The Dead in its entirety for the first time ever, along with fan favourites from across their catalogue. Fans can look forward to classic tracks like the ‘blistering thunderous’ beloved title cut, “Wake The Dead”, the high energy “False Idols Fall” and straight-up, high-octane banger “Talk is Cheap”.

"We are ecstatic to announce our 20 Year Anniversary show for Wake The Dead this February. This will be our first time ever playing inside the Burton Cummings Theater in Winnipeg and is poised to be the biggest headlining show of our career,” the band shared. “We will be playing Wake The Dead in its entirety, alongside some of our favourites from our other albums. Come celebrate 20 years of an album that changed our lives, and 25 years of CBK with us!"
Originally released on February 22, 2005, Wake The Dead quickly became a defining moment in the band’s career and helped shape the sound of an entire era. Produced and recorded by Bill Stevenson, drummer of Descendents / ALL, at the iconic Blasting Room in Fort Collins, Colorado, Wake The Dead sold over 100,000 units, charted in the Top 20 on the Billboard’s Heatseekers chart, and has left an indelible mark, influencing countless bands and cementing its place as a pivotal work in the evolution of hardcore punk.
Celebrate this momentous occasion with Comeback Kid as they bring Wake The Dead to life like never before.
Originating in Winnipeg, MB and first gaining recognition with their 2002 demo and the acclaimed Turn It Around in 2003, Comeback Kid has consistently balanced a DIY ethos and dependability with a humanitarian approach, breaking down hardcore boundaries and elevating the genre to a global stage. Career-defining album Wake The Dead launched the band to new heights in 2005, and 2007 found Andrew Neufeld taking over vocal duties on the band’s third full-length, Broadcasting. Giving hardcore notoriety across the world, Comeback Kid released four albums between 2011-2022, the latest being the critically acclaimed Heavy Steps.
Earlier this year, Comeback Kid released the Trouble EP through New Damage Records in Canada. Produced and recorded by the band and John Paul Peters (Cancer Bats, Propagandhi) at Private Ear Recording in Winnipeg, the EP stands as a powerful testament to the band’s steadfast commitment to forging ahead on their own terms. Described as a "must-listen" that captures the band at the height of their creativity, the 4-track EP features the infectious, tongue-in-cheek lead single “Trouble In The Winner’s Circle”, the festival anthem “Disruption”, and the gritty, pulse-pounding “Chompin’ At The Bit.”
