KISS Hotter Than Hell Ultra Premium Rum 50th Anniversary Edition has been released by Brands For Fans. The limited edition premium rum is inspired by the 50th Anniversary of the band’s second album, Hotter Than Hell. The 1974 Beast is the album before Dressed To Kill, a song on which inspired our headline.
KISS Hotter Than Hell Ultra Premium Rum is the sixth addition to the acclaimed Drink It Up by KISS spirits portfolio. With only 2,000 bottles available, these should thrill both KISS fans and rum connoisseurs alike. It is sure to be an exclusive blend that will become a collector’s item.
“This blend embodies the raw energy and power of KISS while offering a refined experience that rum aficionados will appreciate,” Filip Lundquist, CEO at Brands For Fans and parent company Umida Group, told MetalTalk. “With its deep flavours and robust character, it’s a fitting tribute to a band that has been pushing boundaries for 50 years.”
Aged for 14 years in ex-bourbon and Batavia arrack casks from Guyana and Jamaica, KISS Hotter Than Hell Ultra Premium Rum carries a 45% ABV, enhancing its boldness and depth.
The exquisite ageing process has imbued the rum with rich, complex flavours, resulting in a spirit that is as sophisticated as it is daring – just like the legendary band itself.
KISS Hotter Than Hell Tasting Notes
Nose: Sophisticated notes of butterscotch, dates, and dark chocolate.
Palate: Smooth yet complex, leading with distinct tones of arrack and crème caramel. Clear oak character follows, rounded off with hints of almond, vanilla, and fudge.
Finish: Full-bodied and well-balanced, highlighting the character developed through extended ageing.
The label of this exclusive release is a work of art, meticulously designed to pay homage to the Hotter Than Hell album cover and the era in which it was created. Every element of the design draws inspiration from the original album, adding visual and symbolic layers that KISS fans will instantly recognize and appreciate.
If you are not going to drink it, then there are some cool image interpretations of aspects of the band. The neck label, for example, has the iconic personas of a star for The Starchild, flames for The Spaceman, whiskers for The Catman, and the unmistakable tongue for The Demon, while the red and white striped pattern reflects the border design for Hotter Than Hell.
The front label contains the Japanese symbol for “Powerful,” while the drink title is in the same font as the original album cover title. The flames around the main title represent the concept of Hell with intricate patterns within the flames linking to traditional Japanese designs and the signature circular studs worn by Gene Simmons and Ace Frehley during that time.
See if you can spot the four references to each band member’s personality on the front label. [No prizes for guessing correctly, sadly.]
The reverse label also features icons representing each band member.
Priced at €65 / £55, KISS Hotter Than Hell Ultra Premium Rum is available from the Brands For Fans website for fans in Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, The Netherlands, and the United Kingdom.
