Nikki Sixx is confident Jake Paul doesn’t stand a chance against Mike Tyson.
“Mike Tyson is looking stronger and faster than I’ve ever seen him,” Sixx tweeted. “I can’t wait for this fight coming up on Netflix on November 15.”
A commenter replied, “C’mon Nikki. Dude is almost 60. He shouldn’t be getting in the ring, even against a semi-pro like Jake Paul.”
Sixx responded, “I see you know a lot of boxing and Mikes style verses an amateur. There will be blood.”
Originally scheduled for July 20, the Paul-Tyson fight was postponed due to Tyson’s health, after he experienced an ulcer flare-up. Now, it’s set for November 15 at AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys, and will be streamed on Netflix.
Tyson, 58, who is 31 years older than Paul, is tired of people focusing on his age. He told FOX 4’s Mike Doocy, “Other people my age haven’t been training as long as me, been as consistent as me, and I’m just a different species of human being.”
Despite his health issue, Tyson believes he’s ready for the fight and has ‘bad intentions.’ “[Training] is not much different. I just need more massages than normal,” Tyson explained.
Paul, who began boxing in 2018, holds a 9-1 record. Tyson acknowledges Paul’s abilities but insists they’re not on the same level, challenging Paul to stay in the ring and trade punches.
“I think he should try it. He’s a younger man, he should be able to handle punches from an old withering man like me,” Tyson remarked. “My intention is to hurt this young man.”
This will be Tyson’s first fight since his 2020 draw with former champion Roy Jones Jr.
