David Lee Roth recently released a new song called “Red Bull And Pop Tarts.” Years ago, he shared a small teaser of the song, but the full version just came out today.

Fans had mixed reactions. One fan said, “I’ll never listen to this again… but I’m glad I heard it once.” Another commented, “Best sense of humor in rock n roll. Song has a good groove to it, I dig it.” Others appreciated Roth’s carefree attitude, with one person writing, “Dave owes no one an explanation. Be grateful he’s sharing his artistic side with us, let him have his fun. Life is short, and his little songs brighten my day, I enjoy these little blast of music.”

The release comes amidst tension between Roth and Alex Van Halen.

In an interview, the drummer revealed an issue between them, saying, “The thing that broke the camel’s back, and I can be honest about this now, was I said, ‘Dave, at some point, we have to have a very overt — not a bowing — but an acknowledgment of Ed in the gig. If you look at how Queen does it, they show old footage.”

He added: “And the moment I said we gotta acknowledge Ed, Dave f*ckin’ popped a fuse.… The vitriol that came out was unbelievable. I’m from the street. You talk to me like that, motherf*cker, I’m gonna beat your f*cking brains out.”

Roth hasn’t responded to Alex’s comments yet, but he did post a video titled ‘LA River Yacht Club’ without any explanation.
