Sabaton is wrapping up another successful tour in support of Judas Priest in North America and prepared a great gift for fans around the world. Their concert film entitled Sabaton - The Tour To End All Tours will be screened in 500 North American cinemas for two nights only — October 30 and October 31. The film was recorded at the iconic Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam, where 16,000 fans gathered to watch the band during their 2023 European tour. The production is as big as it gets for Sabaton and showcases their artillery in full effect.
Sonic Perspectives caught up with Sabaton frontman Joakin Brodén to discuss the production and more. check out the interview below.
Brodén: "We wanted to basically show he rest of the world what we're able to do in Europe, because we're doing about 15,000 to 20,000 people ( a night) over there. We're not doing that in North America or Australia or Latin America. We thought, hey, maybe we should share this because it's the biggest production we ever brought on tour. Obviously, we knew what we were filming, but we didn't know what we were going to use beforehand, but after a while doing a DVD, Blu-ray or a streaming thing, it would have worked, yes, but it's not quite as social. we thought, 'This feels like it's in the hall, how can we replicate that even closer?' We figured if people go to the cinema, that will be a closer approximation to the concert experience."
Sabaton recently announced that over 700 cinemas spanning 26 territories are taking part in the global premiere of their explosive concert film, Sabaton - The Tour To End All Tours in Europe.
The event will also premiere in the US and Canada, which is news that will surely delight its legion of diehard fans. The concert event will land in nearly 500 North American cinemas for two nights only - October 30 and October 31.
