Liam Gallagher urged Oasis fans on X to support him in the EMAs, where he is competing against Bon Jovi and Green Day.
In his post, he wrote, “Vote for me please EMAs I beg you pretty pretty please cmon I’m worth it I’m BIBLICAL LG x.” A fan commented, “Ema’s mean nothing. We already know you’re the greatest musician out there,” to which Liam replied, “I want that f*cking AWARD.”
Another user asked if he was preparing his acceptance speech for when he wins Best Rock Band. Gallagher humorously responded, “I’ll just open my mouth on the night and see what comes out.”
Alongside Liam, Bon Jovi, and Green Day, other nominees in the Best Rock category include The Killers, Lenny Kravitz, Kings of Leon, and Coldplay.
Liam previously won the first Rock Icon award at the MTV EMAs in Seville in 2019. During his brief acceptance speech, he thanked MTV for recognizing his talent and concluded the night with performances of ‘Wonderwall’ and his solo track ‘Once.’
Gallagher enjoys engaging with fans on social media and recently discussed interviews with Noel Gallagher. A fan remarked, “I think Noel doesn’t want to do interviews with you because you’re funnier,” and Liam replied, “We don’t want to do interviews coz we’re scared of the media asking us intrusive questions and trying to pick holes in our relationship.”
Oasis announced their reunion in August after a long-standing feud between Liam and Noel that began with their breakup in 2009, which was triggered by a fight at the Rock en Seine festival in France.
While there are no official plans for new music yet, the band has scheduled multiple concerts in the UK, Ireland, Australia, the US, and Mexico. Recently, they added two more shows in Australia as part of their reunion tour.
