During a recent appearance on Hot Ones Versus, Corey Taylor remained tight-lipped about metal vocalists who lip-sync during performances.

“During an appearance on Steve-O’s Wild Ride, you hinted that certain metal singers lip-sync on stage but didn’t name names. Expose one of your peers for committing the sin of lip-syncing or eat a death wing,” said Taylor’s Slipknot bandmate Shawn Crahan.

“Oh dude, you guys are a**holes,” Corey responded. After Crahan encouraged him to spill the beans, the vocalist continued, “Hold on. Let me think about who I can throw under the bus. Now, first of all, you all have to understand I’ve made a change in my life. I’m trying to be a better person. So I don’t want to do that to people. So I may for integrity’s sake, eat a death wing.”

In a 2023 interview with Loudwire, Taylor shared his views on using backing tracks. He stated that he doesn’t criticize all bands for using them but chooses not to use them for his solo work.

The rocker explained, “I want to set the record straight. Something I’ve been saying onstage at the solo shows is I’ve been trying to make a point about real live as opposed to tracks and computer live.”

He added, “Now, before I say anything, I want to say that I am not saying there is anything wrong with using computers or using tracks. To each his own, it’s fine. If that’s what you want to do, that’s fine. But for me, my proudest moment is that we get up onstage and we do it as a band.”

“If you hear wrong notes, that is live. If you hear wrong chords, that is live. If you hear me mess the words up, that is live. That makes the experience completely individual to the person at the show,” Corey also noted.

In the same episode, Taylor ranked his rock feuds. He placed Limp Bizkit as his top feud, noting that his feelings were influenced by his ego and were mostly about Fred Durst. He put Machine Gun Kelly in the middle due to creative disagreements but acknowledged he had respected MGK before. He ranked Nickelback last, describing their music as repetitive.
