BraveWords recently reported that Erik Grönwall will be touring Europe in 2025 with Michael Schenker. The singer confirmed the news by sharing the headline and tagging Schenker on his Instagram.
Fans reacted negatively to the announcement, pointing out that Grönwall previously left Skid Row, saying his health issues wouldn’t allow him to tour. One person asked in the comments section, “What happened to not being able to tour?”
“Hey, medicine-free and one with all the vaccinations!” the vocalist replied. “I never said I wasn’t able to tour, only that the amount of touring at the time was too much to handle during my recovery process. Feels great to head back out!”
More comments followed, with some asking for Grönwall to return to Skid Row, as well: “So, why don’t you come back to Skid Row and celebrate the upcoming live album?” Someone else added, “You could come back with Skid, it would be fantastic!”
Skid Row parted ways with Erik Grönwall in March 2024 after finishing the shows they had postponed earlier due to his health issues. Grönwall later explained his departure in a Facebook post.
“Yes, I have decided to leave Skid Row. The main reason being that it’s proved difficult to prioritize my health and full recovery as the lead singer of the band,” he shared.
The singer came down with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in 2021 and underwent a stem cell transplant later that year. “That gave me a superpower called perspective,” he continued.
“I decided to use that perspective and write down the values I wanted to live by for the rest of my life. On top of that list, it says ‘health first.’ I’ve had to look at that list a lot of times this last year, questioning if I’m really living according to my values. At the end of the day, I realized the answer was no.”
Skid Row completed their 2024 tour with Lzzy Hale as the guest vocalist. Grönwall took the stage for the first time after his departure at Europe’s May 23 concert at Gröna Lund in Stockholm, Sweden.
Later, the singer joined Michael Schenker in the studio to cover some UFO songs for Schenker’s new album, ‘My Years with UFO.’
