Oasis made a comeback just a few weeks ago, and The Cure is releasing a new album for the first time in 16 years. But Liam Gallagher thinks the news won’t make Oasis fall behind.

The rocker took to X to respond to a post of a fan page about the news. The page used a popular meme format to humorously compare the Oasis reunion to a bus and the Cure’s new album to a train the bus crashes into. “In your dreams you bunch of MOTHS,” the rocker responded to the meme.

The same fan page then responded with an interview snippet of Noel Gallagher praising the Cure frontman Robert Smith. “I’ve been a fan of The Cure all my life. It doesn’t look like I’m a fan of The Cure because all The Cure fans look like Robert Smith. But I’ve always admired his songwriting,” Noel said in the interview.

The news of the new Cure album came only a few days ago. The band didn’t make an official announcement but teased the news in different ways. The Cure’s new album looks like it will be called ‘Songs Of A Lost World ‘ and is coming out on November 1st. They put a poster outside the Railway in Crawley, England—where The Cure played their first shows—that says so. In addition to the poster, fans on the mailing list have been sharing images of a mysterious black postcard from the band on social media. The postcard features the phrase ‘Songs for a Lost World’ in scattered letters, along with the numbers 1, 11, and 24.

Robert Smith and the band have been teasing ‘Songs for a Lost World’ for several years. Smith hinted at working on two new albums in 2021 and revealed the title ‘Songs for a Lost World’ the following year. Although he was planning to release the album in late 2022, it didn’t happen. Since then, they have been on their ‘Show for a Lost World’ tour.
