Erik Grönwall left Skid Row in March due to health issues before the band finished their 2024 tour. Lzzy Hale stepped in to replace him for the final four shows in May.

The Halestorm singer recently spoke about her experience performing with Skid Row during an interview with 100.3 The X Rocks. “When you get asked to do those things, like with my Skid Row project that I did with them, you start thinking about like, ‘This is just crazy. This should’ve never happened in my life.’ You know?” she shared.

Hale made her debut performance with the band at Walker’s Bluff Casino Resort in Carterville, IL, on May 17. After the show, Rachel Bolan praised her, saying she was ‘a beast on stage.’

The vocalist continued, “To be wanted by all of these respected musicians and these people that their legends precede me… The fact that I’m getting calls and opportunities to do things with these people is just amazing.”

“So yeah, it really blows my mind daily, and busy schedule aside, I’d rather it be that way than me sitting around my house wondering if anyone’s ever gonna care about what I do. So, I think it’s wonderful.”

Lzzy Hale performed with Skid Row for the last time at Hard Rock Live in Sacramento, CA, on June 1. Fans speculated at the time that she might become the band’s permanent vocalist, but Hale dismissed these rumors in a farewell message on Instagram.

“My soul is still buzzing from the crazy ride I was just on,” she wrote. “Thank you so much to Rachel, Snake, Scotti, Rob, their amazing crew and the entire Skid Row fan base for putting your trust in me. Thank you for bringing me into your tribe, and allowing me to live inside your legacy for a moment.”

“And even though this particular time in my life prevents me from committing to a permanent role in Skid Row… I am sending in my official request to the universe that we will be able to join forces again down the road,” the singer added.

Skid Row is now searching for a new vocalist to replace Grönwall permanently. Meanwhile, Hale is gearing up to hit the road with Halestorm starting on September 21.
