mayhem

Black metal has a long and storied history going back to Venom in 1978, but one of the genre's most-essential bands, Mayhem, formed in 1984. The Norwegian band spent much of their early years mired in controversy, but their music and actions were essential in defining the sounds and public perception of the genre. To commemorate four decades of existence, Mayhem have announced a special tour that will span their catalogue from their genre-defining demo Deathcrush to more recent output like 2019's Daemon.
The press release promises to "celebrate their triumphs over tribulations and tragedy with a-never-before-seen performance, featuring their biggest production yet and other special surprises," while noting that this tour is the only time one can see some of it.
The dates are pretty limited but cover a fair bit of the United States and Canada.
