On August 20, Pink Floyd’s David Gilmour answered press questions about his new album ‘Luck & Strange.’ During the session, he talked about his upcoming tour and admitted that he has been testing himself to see if he can handle an entire show.

“I actually yesterday tried to play through a whole show on my own and I nearly got through it. Everything that came out of that I felt pretty okay about it.”

Gilmour’s new album will be out on September 6, and in his words, it’s the best since Pink Floyd’s ‘Dark Side Of The Moon.’

“It’s over 50 years now since ‘The Dark Side Of The Moon.’ My feeling is that this album is the best album I’ve made in all those years since 1973 when ‘The Dark Side Of The Moon’ came out,” Gilmour said in an issue of Prog.

In celebration of his newest solo album, Gilmour will be going on tour for the first time in eight years. He will perform at Los Angeles’ Intuit Dome on October 25, at the Hollywood Bowl on October 29, 30, and 31, and at New York City’s Madison Square Garden on November 4, 5, 6, 9, and 10.

A teaser clip for the tour features Pink Floyd’s ‘High Hopes,’ ‘Comfortably Numb,’ and ‘Luck and Strange’s’ ‘The Piper’s Call.’ It suggests that Gilmour will most likely play songs from throughout his entire career.
