Testament guitarist Alex Skolnick recently slammed Kid Rock’s recent performance on social media.
The guitarist took to X to respond to a video of Donald Trump and a user’s comments about it. The user shared a video of Trump preparing to give a speech. The user took a jab at Kid Rock’s performance at the Republican National Convention and wrote:
“No twerking. No rapping. No ass shaking. Just President Trump Trump doesn’t need a cheap gimmick to draw a crowd.”
In response, Skolnick wrote:
“Somebody tell Kid Rock.”
What’s The Issue With Kid Rock’s Performance?
Kid Rock performed on the final night of the Republican National Convention on July 18. The singer played his 2000 hit ‘American Bad Ass’ with changed lyrics to support Donald Trump.
During the show, Kid Rock yelled ‘Fight, fight’ to the crowd, similar to what Trump had said at a Pennsylvania rally on July 13 after the assassination attempt.
After the show, people on social media mostly mocked Kid Rock’s RNC appearance. Former First Lady Melania Trump’s reaction went viral, and many noticed she seemed to be trying not to laugh. It’s unclear what she really thought about it, though.
Many people found the performance and Melania’s reaction hilarious. One user wrote:
“This side by side CNN is showing of this horrible and cringe Kid Rock performance at the RNC and the Trump family who can’t seem to hide their disgust is hilarious.”
Another added:
“Melania Trump trying not to laugh at Kid Rock is the funniest thing I’ve ever seen.”
The song also samples Metallica’s ‘Sad But True,’ but Metallica hasn’t commented on the performance yet.
