In an exclusive interview with 95.5 KLOS, Ratt’s Stephen Pearcy slammed modern music and compared it to the 80s music.

The interviewer mentioned the Geico commercial where Ratt was featured and said it helped a lot of younger people to find out about their music. In response, the rocker said:

“Our shows now have parents and their kids. Their kids are doing it right, okay? Introducing them because there’s a lot of sh*t out there it’s like thrown out there if it sticks.”

Pearcy also praised the 80s music and mentioned how ‘special’ it was:

“But this kind of music… 80s music is really a special thing, not because we were like these guys or 4Runner guys whatever. I mean the real sh*t. We came from the strip. There’s nothing like it ever and there never will be again.”

Pearcy Thinks Bands From The ’80s Should Respect Each Other

Pearcy might be on the side of the ’80s when it comes to better music, but he also thinks that bands from that same era should respect each other.

In another interview, the singer said bands should stop holding onto old grudges. He explained:

“Life’s short, man, and a lot of us are dropping like flies. And you’ve gotta remember, this is 40 years later. The ones that are still standing should give respect to one another.”

Pearcy’s comments came after the split between Mötley Crüe and guitarist Mick Mars. Ratt and Mötley Crüe were close in the ‘80s—Ratt’s late guitarist Robbin Crosby even lived with Nikki Sixx—but some of those connections have faded over time.
