The Heavy Metal brethren will storm Catton Park’s hallowed grounds in sixty-four days. With just over two months to go, the annual rager heat is firing up daily with a few pre-festival shakeups still to go.
The next phase of the competition, Metal 2 The Masses, has yet to reveal its winners, and while we wait, a new batch of Bloodstock club nights will keep us entertained. Since becoming an outdoor event in 2005, the festival will play host to 20,000 Metal Heads. Opeth, Architects and Amon Amarth will headline along with plentiful bands throughout the weekend to fill the festival’s gargantuan appetite.
But before we hit the fields of carnage, there will be chances to win standard weekend festival tickets at the Bloodstock club nights. By popular demand they have added two Scottish events in Glasgow and Edinburgh. For a chance to win, head to any of these club night dates.
We have also had word there will be some snazzy VR tech on site, which will allow you to win tickets to next year’s festival. In the Gaming Arena tent, there will be three VR games for you to test your mettle with: Beat Sabar, Space Pirate and Richie’s Plan Experience. You will also be able to find out the identity of several of the 2025 bands, including all three headliners, by watching the big-screen winners’ announcement on-site.
It ain’t Bloodstock without Vikings, and this year, warriors from across the country will be back to battle it out to be crowned champions of Bloodstock. These fighters use full, authentic armour with real weapons in full-contact competition. There will be ample chances to meet these Vikings, who will be more than happy for you to test their beardy historical knowledge.
Thunderflix—the world’s largest collection of concerts, documentaries, and feature films entirely dedicated to Heavy Metal—is currently offering two full months of free access with the promo code FREETHUNDERFLIX.
If you are just too pumped, then Bloodstock’s one-stop shop with Preo is officially up and running, featuring an array of festival essentials. From cold beers (and four pinters of mango cider) to merch, camping equipment and more, head to the Bloodstock Festival Preo store to get your goods in early.
Bloodstock 2024 will be held over the long weekend of 8-11 August 2024.
