The Karma Effect drops Promised Land title track, offering a summer anthem riff-driven escape.

With their sophomore album due for release on May 3, 2024, via Earache Records, London-based hard rock champions The Karma Effect have today released the title track Promised Land. The summer-feeling song is a shining example of their riff-based wonders on the new album.

“The title track itself is more about finding escapism through music,” guitarist/vocalist Henry Gottelier told us. “It’s that feeling of the needle dropping on your favourite record and getting completely lost in sound. It was one of those songs where everything just falls into place so naturally.”

Their tour with Bad Touch and Electric Black may be drawing to a close, but you are sure that the band picked up a large number of fans across the dates.

“We’ve had an absolute blast out on the road over the past few months,” Ash Powell, the band’s powerhouse drummer, told MetalTalk. “It’s given us a great chance to really bed in the new songs, and to see the crowds singing the lyrics back to us each night is just awesome.”

Sunday night’s eight-track set featured four songs from Promised Land, and the anticipation is rising. “Overall, Promised Land as an album is about escapism,” Henry Gottelier says, “and all of the varying forms of escapism that we as a band, and as individuals, find ourselves indulging in.”

Powell is equally keen. “We honestly can’t wait to put Promised Land out into the world on 3rd May,” he says. “The five of us are incredibly proud of this record, and we hope that all of our fans love this record as much as we do.”

If 2023 was a breakthrough year, with gigs and some festivals culminating in a deal with Earache Records, 2024 looks to be even brighter.

Nine Festival slots are confirmed already this year. As we said earlier, without a doubt, The Karma Effect are going places.
